The Champion of Brands provides the Brands Hatch faithful with a regular supply of Formula Ford 1600 racing throughout the season, and the category that dates back to 1967 was on-track twice at MSVR race meetings during the 2024 season. The Champion of Brands was one of Formula Ford racing's leading championships during the late 1970s and 1980s, before disappearing from race schedules. Re-introduced by MSVR and James Beckett Motorsport in 2010, the Champion of Brands has since provided a welcome home for Formula Fordsters, by granting them the opportunity to race their cars regularly at the legendary venue that hosted the first ever Formula Ford event back in 1967! 

The Champion of Brands runs within rounds of the MSVR and James Beckett Motorsport administered United Formula Ford Championship, and enjoys its own points table in rounds of United Formula Ford Brands Hatch events, that provides opportunities for any driver from one of its five classes to become the end-of-season 'Champion of Brands'. 

Chris Sharples won the 2024 Champion of Brands title in the final round of the season at Brands Hatch on September 14th. Driving a Historic (Pre '72) class Palliser for the PA Motorsport team, Chris regained the title that he also won in 2022.
