The 15th running of the Donington Historic Festival takes place this weekend (1-3 May), with a sensational entry list approaching 400 cars set to compete at the circuit’s showpiece retro racing fixture.

Following the reveal of the Motor Racing Legends line-ups last week, almost 200 more entries have been received for six further categories, bringing the confirmed number to a colossal 398 for the 18 races across the three days!

This includes 40 cars in the HRDC Top Hat series for touring cars from 1958-1966, Over 60 Formula Junior machines across two date ranges, and over 30 classic Grand Prix machines from the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association.

A further 26 tin tops will feature in the HRDC Gerry Marshall Trophy for touring cars from the 1960s, 70s and 80s, and 35 more from the HRDC Allstars with the Classic Alfa Challenge, bringing a mix of sports, GT and touring cars.

This adds to the sensational fields previously confirmed for the event, which celebrates over a century of motorsport history, ranging from the Pre-War ‘Mad Jack’ contests for 1920s sports cars, right up to the GT3 Legends, which raced in competition as recently as the 2012 season.

In addition to the bulging entries, the Festival will also feature screaming F1 demos from five Grand Prix cars. An ex-Michael Schumacher Benetton B193, the distinctive Footwork FA13, two McLarens including the legendary MP4/1 and a 1979-1980 era M29, plus a Surtees TS14 are all set to hit the track.
