MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR) celebrates the 10th anniversary of its relationship with the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship when the all-electric championship returns to the UK for the London ePrix at Excel London next month (26/27 July).

MSVR’s collaboration with Formula E dates back to the series’ inaugural season back in 2015, when it was appointed as the Sporting Organiser for the London fixture. Formula E returned to the UK capital a year later with MSVR retaining its involvement, before taking a brief hiatus from our shores.

Formula E’s scheduled return to London following its promotion to FIA World Championship status was delayed a year from 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic. When the revived UK event finally made its comeback in 2021, it was once again with MSVR in position to support the sporting operation of the meeting.

Since arriving at its new home in the London Docklands area, the event has continued to evolve with MSVR’s involvement. The initial running, behind closed doors during the latter stages of the pandemic, was the first motorsport event on a circuit which combined both indoor and outdoor sectors, whilst the circuit has been altered and improved along the way.

The layout was mildly reconfigured in 2022 to improve the quality of the on-track action, whilst the circuit has also adapted to the expansion of the Excel centre itself, with an extended indoor section featuring from 2024.

MSVR has overseen some memorable moments throughout its time as the Sporting Organiser, including the crowning of the championship’s only British champion to date – Jake Dennis in 2023.

MSVR's team, led by Clerks of the Course David Scott (2015/16), Simon Gnana-Pragasam (2021-2024) and Joe East (2025 onwards) manage all sporting aspects of the event. This includes the organisation of medical, recovery, fire and scrutineering elements in addition to a proven team of race officials.

Another key part of the event which falls under MSVR’s jurisdiction is the management of volunteer marshals. These travel not just from all corners of the UK to be a part of this event, but also from across Europe and even as far afield as Australia. Special edition marshal patches and stickers will be available to commemorate their longstanding support for the event alongside MSVR.

MSVR Manager, Joe East, said: “MSVR is hugely proud of its long, productive relationship with the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. There are very few FIA World Championship events in the UK, so it’s a huge privilege for all of us to be involved and we are proud to be appointed in the role of Sporting Organiser year after year. These events require a significant amount of teamwork and commitment, and that’s second to none from all involved.”

Formula E Co-Founder & Chief Championship Officer, Alberto Longo, added: "Our 10-year journey with MSVR in London truly highlights the unwavering dedication and expertise that's essential to bringing Formula E races to life. Their contribution, especially with the unique ExCeL circuit, has been invaluable in shaping some of our most memorable moments, including crowning a British champion right in the centre of the capital back in 2023."
