Amongst a number of championships and series hosting their first rounds of the season at Donington Park, GT Cup make their long-awaited return. Alongside GT Cup, three hotly-contested single-make championships make their return this weekend in the form of: Porsche Boxster Cup, Focus Cup Championship and Production GTI Championship. Single-make championships do fantastically well at placing the emphasis on driver skill, so any driver who earns the podium in these races will have certainly earned their trophy. Both MSVT’s Trackday Trophy and Trackday Championship also feature for their first round of the season. Expect two bumper grids of varied production and production-based saloon, hatchback and sports cars to be in attendance, providing a fantastic spectacle for those in attendance.

With a 3.9-litre V8 turbo engine, delivering 670 horsepower, this is one of the fiercest one-make race cars you’ll see.

Elsewhere, at Cadwell Park, a day of retro four-wheeled competition is in order at the Equipe Classic Racing event, featuring a wide range of classic sports and GT cars. A fantastic selection of classic cars will feature on the Lincolnshire Wolds circuit, with action curated by Equipe Classic Racing.
