For the final time in September, it’s race week!
All MSVR attention is firmly set on Oulton Park’s glorious International configuration for the penultimate round of Miata Trophy and EnduroKA’s 2023 seasons. This Saturday, September 30, the single-make Mazda MX-5 championship and single-make Mk1 Ford KA series visit Cheshire with much anticipation surrounding the day’s action.
Miata Trophy is enjoying a stellar debut season. Highly competitive, firm-but-fair racing has been the theme of the four previous race meetings and there’s little doubt that this will continue this weekend. Hills Motorsport’s Declan Lee finds himself leading both the overall and NC Class championship standings after an impressive campaign in his Mk3 challenger, but there will be a great number of hungry rivals all vying to close the gap at Oulton Park. Liam Cochrane has been the standout in NA Class, amassing a strong championship lead over his fellow Mk1 drivers. SuperPole has continued to prove a point of much excitement, epically producing four different polesitters from the opening four rounds. Could it be five from five in Cheshire?
The action in EnduroKA this year has been just as competitive, highlighted by the fact that 2023 has produced four different race winners from it’s opening four races. The well-subscribed, quirky endurance series remains as popular as ever and spectators at Oulton Park can expect a bumper grid of Ford KAs for their five hour race on Saturday afternoon. Among the pack will be MilnAir Racing, who expertly saw off all competition from rivals in the longest race of EnduroKA’s season last time out at Snetterton – the 12 Heures Du Norfolk. Could the #46 KA be the first repeat winners of the 2023 season?
There’s not long until we find out!
To add to the excitement, all of the day’s action will be streamed live on the MSV.TV YouTube page. You can watch along here.
