26 October 2023

Remarkably, we’ve now arrived at the final weekend of MSVR’s 2023 racing season. Just one meeting remains, on Brands Hatch’s tremendous Indy circuit.

There’s an exhilarating timetable scheduled, to ensure that an excellent year of racing concludes in style. Our friends at MSVT Racing dominate the running, with all of their racing portfolio in attendance. Miata Trophy has sparkled in its debut season, offering a competitive platform for Mazda MX-5 competitors to battle for the honors of becoming overall Champion. Heading into this final meeting, Hills Motorsport’s Declan Lee finds himself in prime position to secure the inaugural title. However, with two sprint races on Saturday, there’s plenty of opportunity for the chasing pack to gain ground on Lee – including Alex Miller (Miller Motorsport) and Simon Fleet (Jiffy Winks) who sit second and third in the championship respectively.

It's set to go right down to the wire in Trackday Championship too. Three drivers are all in with a shout of becoming the 2023 Champion, with Stewart Donovan (Se7en Motorsport) narrowly heading Steve Summers (Datum Motorsport) and Adrian Pottinger (Unique Racing) in the overall standings. Donovan, who currently tops the standings without dropscores considered, has already bolstered his trophy cabinet this season having wrapped up the Class C title last time out. It’s been a fantastic season for the Toyota Celica driver and one that he will look to make even better here at Brands Hatch.

Also enjoying a tremendous 2023 is eBay MSVT Trackday Trophy, which wraps up its racing season in Kent this weekend. The ever-popular series has continued to bring in a whole host of new faces to the motorsport world this year and it will no doubt provide weekend spectators with superb entertainment, as a full grid of diverse machinery compete for the final podium places of the year.

Joining MSVT Racing this weekend is United Formula Ford, who wrap up a strong season of eight race meetings on the Indy configuration. Lucas Romanek has been a shining light in the championship this year, recording a hugely impressive sequence of wins and podiums. The Star Class driver dominates the United Formula Ford Championship standings, though plenty of other drivers have demonstrated excellent racing over the course of the season. Special mention to Rory Smith, who currently leads the Champion of Brands standings by a single point over Romanek. It’ll be fascinating to see which driver bests the other this weekend in the final outing of the 2023.

There’s much anticipation ahead of Sunday, as the time arrives for the latest edition of the Brands Hatch Indy, KA 500. The flagship season finale remains a jewel in EnduroKA’s crown, as a whole host of creatively-liveried Mk1 Ford KAs race around Kent throughout the day and into the night too. Over eight epic hours of racing is in store for those in attendance, with action and thrills aplenty. To add to the spectacle, the teams who manage to outmaneuver their rivals to finish on the podium will be rewarded not just with trophies, but milk bottles too! It’s a truly fantastic event and one that will have everyone on the edge of their seats right until the checkered flag.

For one final time in 2023, let’s go racing!
